THE CRUCIFIXION AND THE RESURRECTION, THE GREATEST LESSON OF LIFE
(Order of the «White Rose» – Comments on Rosicrucian Texts)
The Search for Truth, the Right Way of Living, and the Demand for the Completion of Man could perhaps be taught from the beginning, through socialization, to the young people who come into life in a society where human beings would already know and experience the truth in their lives. In a Society of the Enlightened, Initiated into Reality, in an Ideal Society, as Jesus imagined it. In reality, however, human societies exist in spiritual ignorance, intellectual confusion, blind orientation, and historical dead-ends. And all this lack of spiritual clarity and intellectual adequacy is necessarily loaded onto the people who come into the world, so that they may continue the same blind course.
Thus, the Search for Truth, in some human being, in any human being, in each one of us, comes not as an Initiation into Reality, as would perhaps be natural and desirable, but as an interruption of our blind course in life, as a demand for change in our perception, in our way of living, in our activities and actions. Sooner or later, the thinking person discovers that his life is not fulfilled, something is missing, something is going wrong. Thus, he stops and wonders. If, of course, he truly wants to investigate what is happening to him and does not decide to “forget himself” again and again in the meaningless external life.
When You Stop at a Point (of an evolution, a journey, a life) you can discover that precisely Here, Now, at the Moment You Wonder, this Point of Momentary Stillness and Perplexity is in reality the Gate to Another World. Ultimately, stillness at a Point on the Path is the end of the old journey, the old way of life, the exit from the old life and the entry Somewhere Else, into Another World whose Depth and Extent, whose true dimensions, we do not know. Upon reaching the Point of Change, of Transformation, you already have a journey behind you and before you opens Another World, while to the left and right there are other directions, other orientations, and illusory deviations from the right life.
Ultimately you discover—you can see it at the moment it happens—that when you arrive at this Boundary Point in your life, you are literally at a Cross, you are at the Central Point, You Yourself (as Consciousness, as Awareness, as Understanding), where the straight lines of your life meet (from Where you come toward Where you are going) with the possibilities of deviation once again into ignorance and dead-end paths. You are upon the Cross. You must Ascend the Cross, be truly “crucified” in order to Resurrect as a New Human Being. And it is a Cross right Here where you find yourself, when you are truly Here, Now, and wondering. There is much pain in renouncing the old way of life, mindsets and beliefs, habits and desires, activities and actions. Everything they taught you—the society, the family, other people, public life, the accumulated experience of humanity with its thousands of books—serves little purpose. They cannot show you Who You Are, What You Are, Where You Must Go. True Knowledge, Knowledge of Man, of his Destiny, of his Fulfillment, exists neither in human universities nor in their religions and philosophies. You must search deeply for the precious treasure buried within the “edifices” of men, and often, when you find what people guard as treasure, you discover it is only ashes.
Thus we return once again Here, to the Now, to the Central Point of Perplexity, to the Cross. If behind us, in what we must renounce, there is pain (for the precious things we think we must abandon), yet Ahead Opens the Boundless Space of Freedom. But to hold fast to the Right Path, to follow the Right Way of Living, we must precisely Be Here, Present, in Continuous Vigilance, and understand something very simple: that the Journey Forward is the Infinity of Liberation, of Freedom. That every other path apart from Freedom is limitation, deviation, and dead-end. If we wish to Proceed Forward, Beyond the Cross, into the Free Space of Resurrection and be Reborn as Human Beings, we must abandon every limitation without sorrow. It is not enough to abandon the old life, meaningless activities and actions, scattered desires and illusory perceptions. We must ensure we do not fall again into the trap of limitation. We must understand that Freedom is the Essence of Truth and Truth is the Essence of Freedom. If we wish to truly Resemble God and be His Image and Likeness, in this alone we must take care to resemble Him—in His Freedom, in the Infinity of His Perception that Embraces All, that Unifies All Within the Light of Love that “extinguishes” every distinction.
But this God of Freedom of Whom we speak Is truly the God of direct Experience, of the Right Way of Living that Liberates, that abandons every limitation and Knows the Depth of Infinity. He is the True Living God and not the God of the intellect, the God of theology or philosophy, the God as idea, object of thought—that is, a mere reflection of the Living God within the muddy waters of the intellect and external life. We speak of the God we Find Within ourselves when we free ourselves from limitations, as the Infinity of our Self, as the Non-self that Is All, Living, Present, Without Attributes, Without End, the Truth, the Light, the Bliss.
Brothers! Do not Fear to Question. Do not Fear the Cross. The Resurrection is always after the Cross. And do you want me to tell you something else that will sound strange to your ears? Do not listen to what the mythologists tell you about Jesus. Jesus was Crucified in the Desert of the Essenes and Resurrected in the Desert of the Essenes, and Resurrected He came to men and spoke to them of the Kingdom of Heaven. If He had not already been Crucified and had not already Resurrected, He would not have Known the Kingdom of Heaven, the Boundless Space of God, the True Life. The crucifixion in Jerusalem was not the crucifixion of the already Resurrected Jesus, for Jesus Was Already One with our Father in Heaven; it was simply the blindness and folly of men who crucified His body. That is why the already Resurrected Jesus prayed to the Father with these words: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). The people understood nothing. And two thousand years later they continue to understand nothing—what the Cross is and what the Resurrection is (the Cross and the White Rose), what Rebirth is, the True Life Near our Father, in the Heaven that Embraces All. In reality, Jesus did not “participate” at all in this absurd drama that was being played out in the “theater of the world”; men were “playing” their own absurd role alone, with a human body. Jesus did not “care” about all that. After all, He had said: “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). Later, some came who spoke of the sacrificial crucifixion of the body as a ransom for the sins of the world and of the resurrection from the tomb… only to say that their own god had also risen, like the god of the Greeks, like Dionysus who died and was resurrected “symbolically” every year. The imagination of men is inexhaustible…
THE INNER INFINITY
(ORDER OF THE "WHITE ROSE" - COMMENTS ON ROSICRUCIAN TEXTS)
When the Seeker of Truth understands that there is only One Path, Inward, and when he Feels Experientially his Inner Presence, Directly, through the Inner Sense (the Insight, the Intuition, the Sixth Sense, which is not merely phenomenological pre-conceptual perception, but a complete trans-conceptual perception, like a full sense of things), then he "Returns" to his Human Center, to the Man Who He Truly Is, to the Timeless, Transcendent, True Man. This "State," when experienced, is not only the Pre-Fallen Paradisiacal State of Man, as described in Scriptural Symbolism, but simultaneously the Transcendence of mortal cosmic existence, the future that is Beyond Time, Eternal Life.
Reading the "Genesis" in the right way and desymbolizing the words, which are not placed here randomly, one understands from the beginning that the Only Reality Is the Spirit, the Spirit Alone in the Cosmic Chaos, the Spirit that Is Above the "Waters" of Creation. And it is the Presence, the Power, the Breath of Life, that Is Breathed into the Waters and "Separates" the Creation (in the perception of the beings who will "inhabit" this Creation), into Eternal Spirit, Living Soul (the Higher Waters) and into External Nature (the Lower Waters), or otherwise into the True or Real, the World of the Formless and the World of Forms. And According to the Pattern of the Universal (of Creation) "was created," "was formed," the Pre-Fallen Man, Spirit (Timeless Transcendent Life), Living Soul (Timeless Essence) and Form, Body from material clay. And comes this Heavenly Life that "limited" itself and "became" Soul to "inhabit" this body. And the Connection of the Soul with the Body is made in the True Center of Man, from where "flow" afterward the forces of the soul into the body and then into the sense of the world. This very Center of Man is the Inner Man, the Inner Presence, the Real Direct Sense of "I Exist."
And it is This Inner Center that, when the Seeker of Truth abandons external activity, in the external world (with "stillness"), in the world of desires (with "apatheia" or dispassion), and in the turbulent world of thought (with the "silence of thought"), Blossoms, like a Flower, the "White Rose." The Transition from the external world of action, of becoming, of phenomena (the Lower Waters of Creation), to the Infinite Space of Being, to the Formless Inner Presence (the World of the Higher Waters), is a Transition from the external world of the duality of thought (which separates the ego from the world) to the World of the Unity of Being, Where All Are Bathed in the Light of the Understanding of Unity, of the Oneness of Reality. The "White Rose" Blossoms through the "lower waters," from the swamp of the external world, above the "waters," against the "eternal background of the sky."
The Turning Inward, the Disengagement from the world of phenomena, Brings us to the Space of Being, of our Real Presence in Creation, Here, Now, in the Timeless. We Return to the Center of our Human Existence, Here, Inside the Body, in this Flowing Moment, in the Absolute Present. "We Are" here, in the body and at the same time outside of time, in the Timeless, in the Eternal. When We Return to the True Center of Existence, where We Feel the True Existence, the Real Being that Extends toward Infinity, we "Are" precisely at the Point where the Living Soul Unites with the Body, at the Center of Balance of Existence, in our True Dwelling here. This Center is deep inside the brain. It is the Heart of Being, Where reigns the Deep Peace of Unity, our Immovable Point of Existence in the world. It is simultaneously the "intelligent heart" from which we sense existence and from which we begin all activities outward and at the same time it is the Point Where We Come when we withdraw our forces from outside, abolishing the senses, dissolving desires and "immobilizing" thought, but also the Gateway to the Inner World of the Formless, of the Real Being.
From Here, when We Experience the State and when We Delve Deeper into the Understanding of our Existence, begins the Transformation of the Simple Living Soul into Unlimited Spirit. The "White Rose" Encloses within it the Infinite Heart of Life that Beats Everywhere. And this Heart We Find Within Us Beating. And as We Listen to its Pulse, We Feel the Sacred Vibration of the Universe and we abandon the connection with the world and its limitations and Become One with the Whole. At first it is difficult, even if we have listened to the Inner Beat of Existence, to Understand what Is Happening. The First Sensation is Darkness. Gradually the Darkness "Illuminates" until it becomes Inner Light, the True Light (the "Black Light") that Illuminates the World, even if the world does not Know It. The Passage from the external world to the Inner Man is the First Passage. The Ascent from the Simple Sensation of Eternal Existence, to the Heaven of the Eternal is the Higher Passage. It is the Revelation of the Heart Inside the "Rose." And what Leads Us So High, So Far, to the World of the Formless, happens here, now, as long as we are inside the body. It suffices to know Where to Search, How to Search. Within Us, Here, is the Gateway of the Real, not outside, in the world of phenomena that our thought illuminates or our senses grope.
It is not enough, therefore, to Pass the Cruciform Path and for the "Rose" to Blossom Within Us, to Reach the Pre-Fallen State of the Primordial Man, of the Scriptural Adam. We Need much more Within the "White Rose" to Feel the Infinite Heart of the Universal Man, to Feel the Life of the Cosmic World (of Creation). We must not only Rise above the "Lower Waters" to the "White Rose," but also Within the "White Rose," in the Higher Formless Waters, to Let the Heart of Life Reveal itself in All its Infinity. Beyond this there is nothing else but the Spirit, This Ancient Spirit that Is Present Above the Waters, This that Exists Only From Itself, Spirit Alone, Spirit All, Spirit Forever.
Blessed is he who Passes the Three Passages, for then only does He Himself Experience what the Child of the Essenes who Became the Child of Light said, "I and the Father are One." Amen!
